The Slow App

Privacy, plainly

Privacy policy.

Last updated 27 August 2026

The Slow App is built to make your day feel lighter, not watched. It is operated by Code by Bleckert AB in Stockholm, Sweden. This policy explains what we collect, why we need it, and the choices you have.

Who is responsible

Code by Bleckert AB is the data controller for The Slow App and this website. You can contact us about privacy or your personal data at hello@theslow.app.

What we collect

Account information. Your name, email address, authentication details, language and appearance preferences. Passwords are stored as secure hashes. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the Apple identifier, name, and email address Apple shares with us.

Your household and its content. Household name, membership and invitations, the shared commitment for each day, completion details, and the accomplishments you record. This content is associated with the household that creates it.

Device and technical information. Session and access tokens, push-notification tokens and device names when notifications are enabled, IP address, user agent, request timestamps, and standard server logs needed to operate and secure the service.

Messages to us. If you contact us, we receive the email address and information you choose to include in the message.

How and why we use it

We use your information to create and secure your account, keep household data in sync, show shared commitments and history to household members, deliver invitations and account emails, send notifications you enable, provide support, and prevent misuse.

Under European data-protection law, we process this information when it is needed to provide the service you asked for, when we have a legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and reliable, when you have given consent, or when the law requires us to do so.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not show advertising, build advertising profiles, or use third-party trackers to follow you across apps or websites.

Who can see it

The Slow App is shared by design. People in the same household can see the household name, member names, daily commitments, completions, and accomplishments. Only invite people you trust; anyone in a household may be able to add or change shared content.

We share information with service providers only when needed to run The Slow App—for example hosting and database infrastructure, email delivery, Sign in with Apple, Apple Push Notification service, and security operations. They may process information only for the service they provide to us. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect people, rights, and the security of the service.

How long we keep it

We keep account and household information while it is needed to provide The Slow App. Expired invitations, security records, support messages, and backups are kept only as long as reasonably needed for their purpose, legal obligations, fraud prevention, and recovery from failures.

You can ask us to delete your account by emailing us. We will delete or anonymise personal data associated with it unless we must keep specific information for legal or security reasons. Shared household records may remain for other household members, with your personal association removed where appropriate.

Your choices and rights

You can update your account information and notification permission through the app and iOS settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.

Email hello@theslow.app to make a request. We may need to verify that the account is yours. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. In Sweden, that is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY.

Security, transfers, and changes

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a unique password and protect access to your device.

Some providers may process information outside the EU or EEA. Where required, we use recognised safeguards for those transfers. If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and provide notice in the app or by email when appropriate.

A quiet website, too

The public website does not use advertising cookies or behavioural analytics. Functional web flows may use strictly necessary cookies, and our servers may record the technical basics described above to keep those pages working and secure.
